What Is Edestol™?

Edestol™ is a standalone desktop program designed to streamline the design and documentation of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. It replaces custom spreadsheets, tedious manual calculations, and disorganized workflows with a fully integrated platform.

Using a project-based interface, Edestol™ automates the sizing and documentation of cables, conduits, raceways, devices, and distribution equipment — all while ensuring compliance with NEC® 2024 standards.

Who Is It For?

Edestol™ was built for professionals involved in electrical design, documentation, and installation, including:

  • Electrical engineers (power and controls)

  • Electrical designers and drafters

  • Contractors and panel shop technicians

  • System integrators and electrical equipment suppliers

  • Engineering firms (full-service, MEP, municipal)

  • Inspectors, estimators, and project managers

Key Functions & Features

Design Any System

Handle any electrical project, from residential service panels to industrial power distribution systems up to 35,000V.

  • Power distribution, motors, lighting, heaters, controls, instrumentation, and comms

  • Works with all system voltages used in the U.S.

  • Supports all wire, cable, conduit, tray, device, and load types

Automated Sizing Tools

Edestol™ automates the complex and time-consuming tasks of:

  • Sizing services, feeders, and branch circuits

  • Calculating conduit fill and cable tray capacity

  • Specifying circuit breakers, fuses, and disconnects

  • Adjusting cable and conduit sizing based on temperature, tray spacing, and NEC® derating requirements

  • Creating manual cables when the scenario falls outside automated logic

Built-In NEC® Logic

Edestol™ references the 2024 NEC® (NFPA 70) and supports:

  • Article 100–450, Chapter 9, and Annex B

  • System requirements, motor circuits, load calculations, overcurrent protection, and more

  • Fully structured SysData™ database that applies sizing rules in real time

Note: The software does not contain NEC® text. Users must have access to the official NEC®.

No CAD or Drafting Required

Edestol™ is a stand-alone Windows application — no AutoCAD®, Revit®, or drafting tools needed. The interface uses a tree-style project layout and forms-based inputs to keep design intuitive and fast.

What Edestol™ Creates for You

As you build your project, Edestol™ automatically generates and maintains:

  • Equipment lists and technical specifications

  • Cable schedules, conduit schedules, and pulling schedules

  • Instrumentation and control BOMs

  • Panel and breaker specifications

  • Lighting and receptacle load summaries

  • Comprehensive material lists for wire, conduit, trays, and more

Designed for Flexibility and Control

  • Bulk import motors, loads, or control devices
